Jonathan P. Altman

Mr. Altman is Of Counsel to the firm.

Mr. Altman has experience in the areas of premises and general liability, environmental, commercial auto, professional liability, construction defect and accident claims, subrogation, products liability, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation.

Mr. Altman has previously worked at well-known defense firms in Northern New Jersey and New York City. Following law school, he worked as a claims professional in AIG’s Environmental Claims Division.

Mr. Altman represents commercial enterprises of all sizes and types, non-profit entities, licensed professionals, construction/contracting companies, manufacturers and suppliers, hotel/hospitality companies, condominium associations and individual homeowners in both New Jersey and New York. Mr. Altman guides his clients through the litigation process, with an eye towards early resolution. He has obtained multiple dismissal of claims asserted against his clients, on a variety of legal defenses. For example, recently Mr. Altman obtained summary judgment on behalf of a condominium association, in a case of first impression as to New Jersey Landowners’ Liability Act, N.J.S.A. 2A:42A-8. He successfully argued the legislature intended to limit liability to landowners who own property adjacent to the state’s waterways, as such landowners are required as a matter of public policy to provide the public access to their property.
